Feel Japanese elegance, while enjoying a beautiful view of the garden
See, Play, Experience
Jokamachi-Chofu Area
This residence was constructed by order of Mori Mototoshi, the 14th head of the Chofu Mori family, in 1903. Emperor Meiji stayed here, and part of the room has been preserved as it was at that time. The residence features a massive main building in a samurai-residence style, and a traditional Japanese garden surrounded by white walls. The fresh greenery of spring and colored leaves in fall add brilliance to the residence. In the main building, decorated with arranged seasonal herbs and flowers, you can take a rest, enjoying green tea served by yourself. Since being located nearly at the center of Chofu castle town, this is an ideal place to take a rest while strolling around the castle town.
