This is a shopping area in front of Shimonoseki Station, lined with about 100 stores, dealing in fresh food, meat, fish, and clothing, as well as restaurants. Many stores are run by Korean people, and specialty stores dealing in yakiniku meat, Korean food, and chima jeogori, traditional Korean clothing, create the atmosphere of traditional shopping districts in Pusan, a friendship agreement partner of Shimonoseki City. This area is near the Shimonoseki Port International Ferry Terminal for the Kampu Ferry, which connects Shimonoseki and Pusan, so you can enjoy shopping while feeling an exotic atmosphere. To the east of this area is Chayama Street, the setting of the movie Chirusoku no Natsu.
